The film's box office collection is Rs 2.35 crore, scored the biggest Monday ever for a Punjabi film. Shadaa, directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, tells the story of a man who is under pressure from his parents to get married. But the helpless being is unable to find a good match. Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa-starrer had earned Rs 2.60 crore, is a little over 9% which is almost negligible. After a glorious four-day run in cinemas, its total box office collection has reached Rs 11.60 crore. Since Punjab is a multiplex-dominated circuit and ticket prices in multiplexes are usually lower on Monday, it is possible that the footfalls on Monday were more than that on Friday, says a Box Office India report.
However, Shadaa is facing a tough fight from the Hindi release of the week. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh. However, in Punjab, the film remains unbeaten. Even in Chandigarh, a fairly huge market for Hindi films, Shahid Kapoor starrer 'Kabir Singh' is lagging behind "Shadaa" by nearly 50 percent.
