Board of Secondary Education Assam on Thursday, September 02, 2021, reduced the syllabus for Class 9 and 10 by 40% in comparison to the academic year 2019. The decision is taken in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SEBA Reduces Class 9 and 10 syllabus

Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA Online) has reduced the syllabus of every subject of Class 9 and 10. The decision is taken for the convenience of the students appearing in the examination of class 9 and class 10 (HSLC) in academic session 2021-22. The revised syllabus will be provided in Pdf to all Inspectors of Schools concerned which is to be circulated amongst all Heads of Schools, Teachers and students of Classes 9 and 10, read the official notice. In addition to this, the revised syllabus will also be made available on the SEBA website sebaonline.org.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the educations institutes had to be closed across the state of Assam from the 3rd week of April 2021. Although, during this period the schools conducted online classes but most of the students could not attend due to various reasons. "It has been noticed that there has been considerable academic loss and it will be difficult for the students as well as the teachers to cover the course curriculum prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) for the academic year 2021-22," read the official notice.

According to an official notification, dated September 02, 2021, the board has decided to reduce the course curriculum of each and every subject approximately by 40% in comparison to the academic session 2019. Here is the revised syllabus for Class 9 and 10 as facilitated at SEBAonline.org- Click here.

The syllabus has been reduced only for the examination purpose for the ongoing academic session 2021-22 only. Meantime, the teachers have been asked to teach the whole course if possible. Teaching the whole syllabus can give adequate knowledge of their entire course content, the notice adds.
