Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 by Mani Ratnam was released in September 2022 and turned into a blockbuster hit film. Ponniyin Selven sequel is the dream project of several Tamil filmmakers, which Mani Ratnam has turned it into a reality.

The makers have unveiled the trailer of PS2 to build the buzz of the movie. The sequel of the Ponniyin Selvan, trailer has been released simultaneously in multiple languages, which grabbed excellent engagement on the video streaming platform.

Ponniyin Selvan 2: Star Cast & Makers

As revealed by the makers, along with a brand new poster of Ponniyin Selvan 2, on 30th March 2023, Friday. Chiyaan Vikram, who plays Chola crown prince Aditha Karikalan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who appears as the lead antagonist Nandini are featured, which has already set social media on fire. 

Kamal Haasan will be seen in attendance as he graced the event as the special guest. Ponniyin Selvan 2 will have other pivotal actors Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Trisha Krishnan, besides Aishwarya and Vikram. 

Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Ashwin Kakumanu, Mohan Raman, Sarathkumar and Parthiban are part of the supporting cast. Composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and cinematographer Ravi Varman are part of the technical crew. The film is bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.

Ponniyin Selvan 2: Plot

The sequel of Ponniyin Selvan is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name.

It will take off from the conclusion of the first movie, where the viewers saw Ponniyin Selvan facing his death, as Aishwarya Rai’s Oomai Rani jumps into the sea to save him.
