Ajith Kumar’s newly released film Thunivu got released on 11th January at the theatres despite solid competition with Vijay’s Varisu, it made a blast on opening day at the theatres. Thunivu is directed and written by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. Starring Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier along with Pavani Reddy and Samuthirakani with Veera, Mamathu Chari, Bagavathi Perumal, and John Kokken in the supporting roles.

The plot of the film follows a dreadful gangster Radha where he and his fellow companions who plan to rob one of the biggest banks in Chennai.

But realize that another gang led by a mysterious person, Dark Devil has already hijacked the bank.

Thunivu was released on over 425 screens in its home territory. The film is riding on the positive buzz created by the trailer and word of mouth from the audiences who watched the film.

As per the latest reports, Ajith Kumar’s heist action movie has opened with Rs 22 Crores in the state on its 1st day. The film has slightly done better than Vijay’s Varisu which was released on the same day. Thunivu was houseful in many theatres in the South.

The film began with a 95% occupancy rate for the morning shows across Tamil Nadu.
