Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is expected to start the online application process for Class 1 Admissions for the academic year 2022-23 soon. According to the local media reports, the online application process is expected to kick start possibly in the first week of March. Once the registration starts, parents can register for their kid's admission registration to Class 1 in participating Kendriya Vidyalayas. A detailed admission schedule will be released online at kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
To be eligible for KVS Class 1 admission, the child must be 5 years old as of March 31, 2022, or in the academic year in which admission is sought. The maximum age of the child can be relaxed for the disabled category. Of the total, 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste, 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes, and 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC-Non-Creamy Layer) in all fresh admissions across Kendriya Vidyalayas.
In order to register online for KVS Class 1 admissions 2022-23, parents or wards need to visit the official website kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in. Then, on the main homepage press click on Register> New Registration> Proceed to read instructions. After going through the instructions, press on "Proceed" tab. To complete the registration, fill in all required personal details including age, parent's or guardian's details, category, state, district, address, etc. Next, cross-check the details filled in before the final submission of the application. Upon submission, take a print copy of the application form for future requirements. There is no application fee for KVS Class 1 admission fresh registration.

Last year, KVS Class 1 admission registration for the academic year 2021-2022 started on April 01, 2021. The last date for submission of the online application was April 19, 2021. The first provisional selection and waitlist list of the registered candidates was released on April 23, 2021. Here are the detailed admission guidelines for the academic session 2021-22.

Admissions to Class 1 or first standard in Kendriya Vidyalayas will take place through Lottery results. Once the registration window closes, the participating KVs will release the lottery results and send them to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. List of children registered, list of eligible children, category-wise list of provisionally selected children, waiting list, and subsequent lists to be displayed on the website of the Kendriya Vidyalayas concerned, in addition, to display on School’s Notice Board.
