National Testing Agency in consultation with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the last date of Ph.D. entrance test registration to December 30, 2021. The last date for payment of the application fee online has also been revised as of December 31 up to 11:50 pm. Whereas, corrections in the application form can be made from January 01 to 03, 2022. Candidates fulfilling the required eligibility can fill in the online application for IGNOU Ph.D admissions 2021-22 at ignou.nta.ac.in.
According to the official notice from the IGNOU, the decision to extend the last date of Ph.D application form is taken on the students' demand. "This is being done keeping in view of a large number of requests received for the same," says IGNOU in its official notice.
Earlier, the last date of the IGNOU Ph.D application form was December 22, 2021. The applications were started on December 05, 2021. It should be noted that registration fees for general category candidates is Rs 1000, whereas candidates belonging to any of the category (third gender, SC, ST, PwD category) have to pay Rs 800.
To be eligible for the IGNOU Ph.D., a candidate should have passed a Master’s degree from a recognized university by University Grants Commission (UGC) in the relevant discipline with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ (for General category) in the UGC 7-point scale. In the case of SC, ST, and OBC, or Differently-Abled and other categories, candidates need to have 50 percent marks according to the decision of the Commission.

Step 2: Search and click on the “IGNOU PhD Registration 2021” link that is given on the main page
Step 3: As a new page opens, candidates need to fill in the application form with all important details
Step 4: Further upload the required documents, pay the fee and submit the form.
Step 5: Download and take a printout of the application form for future needs.
