RRB NTPC Vacancies Revised; Ex-Servicemen Given 10 Percent Reservation, No Vacancy for PWD

RRB NTPC.vacancies have been revised further in terms of the Para 1.10 of detailed Notification of CEN 01/2019. Now, out of the total, 10 percent posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen. While the vacancies for PwD category have been omitted.

Indian Railways has revised the RRB NTPC vacancies increasing them to 35,281 posts with 10% reservation for Ex-Servicemen. Further the vacancies reserved for the PwD have been reduced to zero as the category is declared not suitable for the post. RRB Bhopal and other participating boards have published the official notification on revision of vacancies under CEN no 01/2019 Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC). 

"The vacancy of Ex-Serviceman has been revised to 10% of total vacancies as per statutory provisions. And the PwBD vacancy has been reduced to Zero for Category No.3 in Level - 5 as the PwBD are not suitable for the post," an official notice from Indian Railways reads.

With this revision, now the total vacancies to be filled through RRB NTPC notification in different RRBs are 35,281. Of the total, 3539 vacancies are now reserved for the Ex-servicemen (EsM). The maximum 15,141 are for the Unreserved (UR) category, 8717 for Other Backward Class (OBC), 5130 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 3510 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and 2773 for Scheduled Tribe (ST).

"The detailed vacancies of all participating RRBs along with various posts, community or category wise are enclosed in revised vacancy table- Annexure-B2. However, all other terms and conditions of the CEN-01/2019 will remain unchanged", it adds.

It should be noted that the RRB NTPC Stage 1 Computer Based Examination was conducted from December 15, 2020 to August 07, 2021. However, the result of the CBT 1 has is yet to be declared. According to the official notice, RRB NTPC stage 1 result shall be declared on January 15, 2022. Further, the recruitment board has also decided to conduct the CBT 2 Examination from February 2022, however, the official schedule has not been released.

Railway Recruitment Board, Chennai is conducting the recruitment drive to fill 35,281 (revised) vacancies on various Graduate and Undergraduate NTPC posts including of Station Master, Goods Guard, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, etc. The board invited the online applications in February-March 2019.
