Statue of Mahatma Gandhi Vadalised outside Indian Embassy in US, Ambassador Ken Juster apologies

The news of Mahatma Gandhi's statue vandalised outside the Indian Embassy in Washington DC in the US, shocked the whole nation this morning. As per the media reports, s group of unidentified people who were protesting against the murder of a black man George Floyd vandalised the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday. An investigation has been launched by the US Park Police.

The US Ambassador Ken Juster officially apologies for this act, this morning. As per news agency ANI, he quoted "So sorry to see the desecration of the Gandhi statue in Washington, DC. Please accept our sincere apologies."

The US has been dealing with the largest civic unrest after the death of George Floyd. Last month on 25th May, Floyd died in Minneapolis after a police officer tortured him by placing his knee on Floyd's neck. He was unable to breathe and was continuously pleading but police office had shown no mercy and resultant Floyd died. 

This incident sparked nationwide protests in the US against police brutality and racism. People across the US are protesting and demanding justice under #BlackLivesMatters which is getting support from all over the world.  

US President Donald Trump claimed that he has done more than Abraham Lincoln for the black people in the country. He also alleged that protestors are anarchists and threatened to call in Army to maintain law and order in the country. 

From Hollywood to Bollywood celebrities are also joining the protest on Social Media and demanding justice. However, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut took a dig at the Indian celebs who all are showing concern for the #BlackLivesMatters. According to Ranaut there is no point of participating in a protest for another country when you didn't stand for the mob lynching of Sadhus in our own country.
