Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Officer (UP CMO) has launched the Laptop Distribution Scheme for the Uttar Pradesh youth on the official website upcmo.up.nic.in. In order to get a free smartphone, tablet, or laptop, eligible candidates can enroll and register at the institute, university, or on the supervising board's website. The registered students' names for Uttar Pradesh Laptop scheme have to be submitted on or before the last date, tentatively in January 2022.
According to a press release, the smartphones, tablets will be issued through Digi Shakti Portal. However, at some of the selected universities or institutes, tablets and smartphones have already been started distributing among the registered students.
It should be noted that students need not register online anywhere for the free Laptop, smartphones, or Tablets. Students' data is being added as provided by the universities.
However, for the stakeholders including ACS ID, UPDESCO Inspection Team, Department, District Administration, Universities, Board, Society, Council, College, Institutes, etc, registration along with data upload or modification can be made online at the portal- digishaktiup.in.

In order to Sign In to Digi Shakti Portal, Select your User Type:
After selecting the User Type, fill in the User ID, Password, and Captcha in the respective fields and click on the Sign In button. Thereafter, the user will be Logged In to his or her respective dashboard thereafter. After login, the user will be briefed about the processing of the software.
According to the CMO, Uttar Pradesh, the selected company has to allot 2.5 lakh Tabs and 5 lakh smartphones to the state Government which will be disbursed among the students.
Ahead of the state assemble elections, among the various beneficiary schemes, the state government had announced this free Laptop scheme.
