Army Chief Mukund Naravane on Saturday briefing media in Delhi said that there is a parliamentary resolution that entire Jammu & Kashmir is part of India and if Parliament wants and we get orders to that effect, we'll take appropriate action. Answering several questions including situation in J&K, matter of PoK, CDS formation and future plans/ preparedness of Army and Women’ as army soldier, Naravane intimated the intentions & duties. In his briefing Army Chief listed future plans of Indian Army and how it would strengthen its capabilities and efficiency.
Briefing on Situation in Jammu and Kashmir Naravane emphasized on Indian Army’s preparedness and long-time goals. Army Chief answered on question asked- ‘can PoK be part of India as stated by political leadership?’ There is a parliamentary resolution that entire J&K is part of India. If Parliament wants it, that area (PoK) also should belong to us and when we get orders to that effect, we'll take appropriate action.
Answering another question on threats to Indian Army, Chief replied-Army is facing short term threats as counter insurgency operations, and long term threat conventional wars and Army is preparing advanced in it- he added. Indian Army much better prepared today than before. On PoK capture- Naravane added we will take appropriate action whenever Government issues notice- 'If Parliament wants it, that area (PoK) also should belong to us and when we get orders to that effect, we'll take appropriate action'.
