Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 to further extend the lockdown for a further period of two weeks beyond May 4. MHA has extended Lockdown till May 17, 2020. In its newly issued guidelines MHA allows a large number of other activities even in the Red Zones. All industrial and construction activities in rural areas, including MNREGA works, food-processing units and brick-kilns are permitted, said MHA on the extension of lockdown.
According to MHA the new guidelines are laid down. Amending the Para 11 of the lockdown extension order, 'in Orange Zones, in addition to activities permitted in Red Zone, taxis & cab aggregators will be permitted with 1 driver & 2 passengers only'.
Under this extension MHA has permitted activities in all across country according to the zone designated by administrtion. A limited number of activities will remain prohibited across India, irrespective of the zone, including travel by air, rail, metro & inter-State movement by road; running of schools, colleges, & other educational & training/coaching institutions, said MHA.
In Orange Zones, inter-district movement of individuals & vehicles will be allowed for permitted activities only. Four-wheelers will have a maximum of 2 passengers besides the driver & pillion riding will be allowed on two-wheelers, Ministry of Home Affairs

In Orange Zones, in addition to activities permitted in Red Zone, taxis&cab aggregators will be permitted with 1 driver&1 passenger only: Ministry of Home Affairs on extension of Lockdown for two weeks from May 4.
Liquor stores & paan shops will be allowed to function in green zones while ensuring minimum six feet distance (2 gaz ki doori) from each other & ensuring that not more 5 persons are present at one time at the shop: MHA on the extension of #lockdown for two weeks from May 4.
Storage , warehousing services, print media , private security services and call centers are allowed to operate. Postal and courier services will begin and Angadvadis and houses for destitute, old age people, women and widows will be operational.
In green zones, all activities permitted in red zones will be operational. E- commerce services are also permitted for non- essential goods in green zones. Buses can ply with 50 percent of its capacity. Bus depots can also operate within 50% of its capacity. Liquor sale is also allowed in green zones.
In orange zones, taxis are allowed to run on roads with 1 passenger and 1 driver only. Movement of individuals across district is allowed only for permitted activities. People above the age of 65, pregnant women and small children are supposed to remain at home and step outside in case of an emergency in all zones.
