Indian Navy Rescues Malaysian Citizen aboard merchant vessel near Mumbai coast

A Malaysian citizen, suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease, experiencing heavy breathing difficulty was rescued by the Indian Navy near the Mumbai coast after Headquarters Western Naval Command received information of medical emergency.

Navy carried out medical evacuation today after HQ Western Naval Command received info of medical emergency onboard Singapore merchant vessel MV Eagle Tampa, near Mumbai coast.

A Malaysian citizen, suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease, experiencing breathing difficulty was rescued by INS.

Indian Naval Seaking helicopter from INS Shikra was sent for evacuation, after confirmation of 2 failed attempts to transfer the patient to tug. A helicopter picked up the patient from the ship & returned to INS Shikra. The patient was then transferred to the hospital by private ambulance.
