India-Vietnam Virtual Summit: Opening remarks of PM Modi and Nguyen Xuan Phuc cherish bi-lateral partnership

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday holds Virtual Summit with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Signing seven new agreements, both the leaders agreed on strengthening the bilateral partnership. Vietnam is an important pillar of India's Act East Policy and vital partner of our Indo-Pacific Vision, PM Modi said in his opening remark.

India and Vietnam Virtual summit: Indian Prime Minister holds Virtual Summit with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc. In his opening remark PM Narendra Modi said that Vietnam is an important pillar of India's Act-East Policy and vital partner of our Indo-Pacific Vision. Both the leaders agreed to work closely in different sectors and partner each other in different areas including Defence, scientific research, nuclear & renewable energy. Both the countries chairing the seats in United Nations Security Council next year.

"Next year both of us will be members of UN Security Council. So significance of our cooperation in global context will increase. We will implement a Joint Vision Document 2021-23 which is a plan of action for bilateral engagement", PM Narendra Modi said in his opening remark at India-Vietnam virtual summit.

India and Vietnam also sign seven new agreements on areas such as scientific research, nuclear & renewable energy, petrochemicals, defence, and other diverse subjects like cancer treatment.

"We're also taking new initiatives to strengthen our socio-cultural relations", Prime Minister Narendra Modi added in his remark.

On other hand Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in his opening remark thanking the PM Modi for his kind remarks about the relationship between India and Vietnam, wishes for an early personal meet next year.

"I am very happy that we have this virtual submit which underlines the commitments of both countries to further deepening the bilateral relations", Prime Minister Nguyen said in his remark. Vietnamese PM also said that he personallys wishes that the pandemic ends soon. He also spoke about the current flood devastation in Vietnam.
