India COVID-19 Cases Today: Positivity Rate, Deaths, Active Cases & More

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has logged 3,17,532 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with a daily positivity rate of 16.41%. Yesterday, India reported 2,82,970 new COVID-19 cases, with a daily positivity rate of 15.13%. According to government data released today, the weekly positivity rate was 16.06 percent. With the addition of new infections in the country, the total number of active cases has risen to 19,24,051.

 According to the ministry, active cases make up 5.03 percent of all cases. 2,23,990 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,58,07,029. As a result, the current recovery rate is 93.69 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 491 people have died as a result of the virus. The death toll now stands at 4,87,693 people. So far, 9,287 cases of COVID-19 variant Omicron have been reported in the country. According to the ministry, the number of cases has increased by 3.63 percent since Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours, 19,35,180 tests were performed to detect the presence of the virus. 70.93 crore tests have been performed since the pandemic began in 2020. Meanwhile, 159.67 crore vaccine doses have been administered as part of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign. India's vaccination drive, for example, began on January 16, 2021, and has now run for a full year.
