Defence Minister Briefs PM Modi About The CDS Rawat Helicopter Crash

14 persons were on board & 11 people have been confirmed dead so far in the CDS Rawat helicopter crash. Defense minister Rajnath Singh has briefed the PM about the crash & the IAF chief is on his way to reach the site.

Defence Minister Briefs PM Modi On CDS Rawat Helicopter Crash: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reportedly briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the crash in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiris earlier today, in which an IAF chop carrying CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife, and staff members crashed and burned.

According to reports, a meeting with senior Defense Ministry officials is currently taking place. According to reports, Rajnath Singh will brief Parliament shortly. The legislature is in session. 

News outlets are broadcasting harrowing images from the crash site. According to reports, 14 people were on board the helicopter, including CDS Rawat and his wife. Eleven people have been confirmed dead as of now. According to some reports, the CDS is injured but safe, but no confirmation on his condition is available at this time.

An Indian Air Force Mi-17V5 helicopter, which is frequently used by Indian forces, crashed near Connor earlier today. The chopper flew from Sulur to Wellington. There were 14 people on board. Among the passengers were CDS Rawat's wife, Madhulika Rawat, Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, NK Gursewak Singh, NK Jitendra Kr, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Lance Naik B Sai Teja, and Hav Satpal.

According to reports, the bodies recovered from the sites were transported to Wellington's military hospital. MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has ordered all possible assistance and is scheduled to visit later today.According to the most recent reports, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari is expected to arrive at Sulur airbase soon.
