Covid-19 Omicron Variant Feb 5 Highlights & Updates: India recorded a single-day increase of 1,27,952 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, a decrease from the previous day's total of 1,49,394 new infections. According to the latest Union Health Ministry bulletin, the country has had 1,059 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of active cases is now 13,31,648. The overall death toll in India has surpassed 5 lakh, with a daily positive rate of 7.98 percent.

COVID-19 Total Deaths In India: On Friday, the death toll from COVID-19 surpassed 500,000, a figure that many health experts believe was reached last year but was masked by incorrect surveys and unrecorded dead in the hinterlands, where millions remain exposed to the disease.

COVID-19 Positivity Rate: The daily Covid positivity rate is 7.98%, while the weekly positivity rate is 11.21%.

COVID-19 Tests In Last 24 Hours: The new cases were discovered after 16,03,856 tests were performed in the previous 24 hours. In India, a total of 73.79 crore Covid tests have been performed to date.

COVID-19 Vaccination Drive: Almost 169 crore COVID-19 vaccination doses have already been administered in the country, according to the health ministry. Until 7 p.m. on Friday, almost 42 lakh (42,95,142) vaccination doses had been administered.
