COVID-19 India: Nation Registers Less Than 50 Thousand Cases Twice In A Week

It is for the second time that country has encountered less than 50,000 coronavirus cases this week. The overall COVID-19 fatalities rose to 3,94,493 with 1,183 more people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.

COVID-19 Update: A single-day surge of 48,698 COVID-19 cases took India's cumulative infections tally to 3,01,83,143 while the weekly COVID positivity rate drops to 3% according to Union Health Ministry data on Friday.

The overall COVID-19 fatalities rose to 3,94,493 with 1,183 more people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.

The total number of active coronavirus cases has further declined to 595,534 and now comprises 2.03 percent of the total infections. A drastic decrease of almost 14000 active cases has been observed in a day, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Recoveries outnumbered daily new cases of COVID-19 for the 43rd consecutive day with the number of people who have recovered from the virus rising to 2,91,93,085. The case fatality rate stood at 1.28 percent. 

While the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97 percent (approx), the weekly coronavirus positivity rate has come down to 3 percent.
