According to the latest reports, India on Wednesday recorded 43,733 fresh COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours as per the Union Health Ministry. As of 7th July, India's active caseload of COVID-19 cases has declined to 4,59,920, which is the lowest in 102 days.
The active cases constitute 1.5 percent of the total cases. Total recoveries have reached 2,97,99,534, including 47,240 patients who recovered during the last 24 hours. As per the ministry, the daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new infections for the 55th day in a row.

As reported by Health Department, the patient recovery rate has increased to 97.18 percent. The weekly positivity rate also remained below 5 percent and is currently at 2.39 percent. The report also states the daily positivity rate is at 2.29 percent, less than 3 percent for 16 consecutive days.
India commenced its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16 this year. As of 7th July, 36.13 crore vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide inoculation drive.

As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total number of subjects tested up to July 6 has mounted to 42,33,32,097 including 19,07,216 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
