COVID-19 India: Cases Surge Consecutively for 2 days, Threat Of Potential 3rd Wave Increases

COVID-19 cases in India have surged in the last couple of days by 6 percent. Previously, daily coronavirus cases fell below the 40 thousand mark, however again, India has reported a positive trend in COVID cases with a chance of a third wave.

India has reported 48,786 new COVID19 cases & 61,588 recoveries during the last 24 hours, taking the active cases tally to 5,23,257 as per the Union Ministry of Health. Citing a 6% increase in the day-to-day measures, the centre has warned all the states to take stringent measures to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. 

So far a sum of 33,57,16,019 citizens has been vaccinated (at least one shot ) taking India's total vaccination tally to nearly 20-25 percent. Unfortunately, 399,459 have succumbed to the infection to date.
