In midst of the ongoing ‘Ex-Desert 21’ Joint air exercise between IAF and FASF in Jodhpur, CDS Bipin Rawat will be taking sortie in a Rafale Fighter Jet. General Rawat was sworn in as the first Chief of Defence Staff on 1 January 2020.
Apart from the operational briefing, CDS will take a sortie in FASF Rafale fighter for almost an hour to assess the operational capability of the most advanced fighter jet in the inventory of both FASF and IAF.
Rafale is a dual seater, omnirole 4.5 generation fighter aircraft which is designed & manufactured by Dassault Aviation. India placed an order for 36 fighter jets in 2016 out of which 8 have been received till now and 28 are still in pipeline.
