Despite receiving mostly unfavourable reviews, Thor: Love and Thunder surpasses another milestone at the global box office. The Chris Hemsworth-starring film, which debuted on July 8th, is the fourth installment of the actor's standalone Marvel flicks. It began with a bang, much like its Phase 4 predecessors.
However, the film's box office collection plummeted after its initial weekend. In addition to Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman reprise their roles as Thor, Valkyrie, and Jane Foster in the MCU film. While Christian Bale debuted as the villain Gorr the God Butcher. The latest 'Thor: Love & Thunder' box office report is given here.
Thor 4 recently passed another significant milestone at the global box office in its third weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, the Chris Hemsworth-led blockbuster will shortly pass the $600 million mark. Though the third weekend generated about half of what the second did, things were quiet throughout the weekday as well.
Nonetheless, Thor: Love and Thunder has persevered and is on the verge of breaking a new record. The Marvel film has so far grossed $276 million in North America and $322 million internationally. The overall revenue is $598 million. All eyes are now on it to beat Thor: The Dark World's lifetime gross of $644 million.
Taika Waititi's comic repackaging in Ragnarok was continued in this picture. However, unlike the 2017 film, Love and Thunder appears to have fallen short. Even its ratings have suffered because it is the worst of the four pictures. Its Rotten Tomatoes rating fell from 71 percent to 67 percent.
Thor: Love and Thunder is the third major release in the MCU's Phase 4, dubbed the Multiverse Saga by Kevin Feige. This suggests that future Marvel films will focus more on the many realities.
