Hon'ble Supreme Court of India on Friday ordered All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to postpone INI CET 2021 exam for a month in view of the ongoing situation due to COVID-19. SC was hearing the petition filed by 26 doctors demanding postponement of examination.
AIIMS INI CET exam is conducted as an entrance test for admissions to prestigeous colleges/ institutes in the field of medicine for post-graduate studies. AIIMS has scheduled to conduct the INI CET 2021 on June 16, 2021.
Considering that many of the candidates intending to appear in the exam are in covid duty and in remote areas, we are of the opinion that June 16 date is arbitrary. We direct the exam to be postponed by one month, needless to say, the exam can be held anytime after one month," the top court said in its order.
The order was passed by a Bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and MR Shah. For more court proceedings read here.
