NTA administered JEE Main examination has started across the country from September 1, 2020. For the nearly 8.8 lakh JEE Main registered candidates the examination will last on Sept 6. The National Testing Agency is organizing JEE Main 2020 examination at 660 allotted examination centres, spread across the country. In view of the JEE & NEET students’ convenience, several steps have been taken by Central and state governments including facility of sub-urban special trains and fare free travel in Odisha. Students appearing for the JEE Main / NEET examination Sept 2020 should know the travel facilities being offered from the respective local/ state authorities.
For the concerned students of JEE Main & NEET UG, Ministry of Railways, Govt of India has permitted candidates and their guardians to travel by special suburban trains in Mumbai on examination days. The entry into Railway stations would be on the basis of JEE Main and NEET UG admit cards, Piyush Goyal Minister of Railways, says.
According to NTA data about 8.58 lakh candidates have registered for the JEE Main and about 15.97 lakh candidates have registered for the NEET UG exam. Ahead of the JEE & NEET exams Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal reached out to chief ministers of states and sought their help in conducting the JEE & NEET exams. States have supported the conduct of exams with proper safety measures.
Railways for JEE & NEET students:
Indian Railways has permitted candidates and their guardians to travel by special suburban trains in Mumbai on the exam days. The entry into stations would be on the basis of JEE and NEET admit cards, Railway Minister said on Monday. States like Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh have also supported the move and they will provide transportation to JEE & NEET students.

Online Cab Facility for Students:
A group of alumni from the IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras students have launched a portal to provide ease in transport facilities to reach the exam centres. According to a report published in The Hindu- The portal, www.eduride.in is created by alumni in response to an appeal by IIT Delhi director V. Ramgopal Rao to provide support to candidates of the JEE and NEET.
Safe conduct of Exam:
For the safety of the students the National Testing Agency (NTA) has drawn an elaborate protocol to ensure the two tests are held in the most touchless manner as possible. Entire examination centres are being sanitized. Use of face masks/ gloves and hand sanitizers are being facilitated across the exam centres. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct JEE & NEET exams in the most touchless manner. Entire premises would be sanitized. Crowding would be avoided. Candidates are also required to adhere to guidelines and new process for Social Distancing and hygiene to ensure safety & health of their own and fellow candidates. For safety purposes, NTA strongly advises candidates not to bring anything other than permitted items as detailed at JEE Main website.
