Indian Railways has given nod to RRB Chennai to continue the recruitment process against CEN 1/2019 Non-Technical Popular Categories posts (NTPC) posts. RRB Chennai shall likely hold NTPC 1st stage Computer Based Examination in coming months as process for marking up online examination centres is about to finish. As examination is turning near, students are hereby provided details on NTPC selection process, 1st CBT test and second stage Computer Based test.
RRB has mentioned in Centralized Employment Notification CEN 1/2019 that board will conduct NTPC 1st CBT test which is common for all categories post. NTPC 1st stage Computer based test date, time and venue for all the activities to be intimated & concerned to all 1.2 crore applicants.
RRB NTPC CBT 1 (100 Questions): Common for all applicants.
Candidates to be called for 1st stage Computer Based test which will carry 100 Multiple Choice based questions. The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts and for shortlisting normalization marks will be formed. RRB Chennai would determine normalized score of 1st Stage CBT for short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT as per their merit.
Candidates who are shortlisted for 2nd Stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of OBC(NCL)/ SC/ ST/ EWS, Pw BD and Ex-SM shall continue to be considered only against OBC(NCL)/ SC/ ST/ EWS, PwBD and Ex SM for all subsequent stages of recruitment process.
Note- RRB NTPC 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will be common for all notified Graduate and Undergraduate posts under CEN 01/2019.
RRB NTPC 2nd Stage Test (120 Questions): For CBT 1 qualified candidates.
Through advertisement Railway Recruitment Board has also specified guidelines for Computer Based Test Stage 2 for NTPC CEN 1/2019. NTPC CBT 2 examination will be conducted for only those candidates qualify stage 1 test.
Total number of candidates to be shortlisted shall be 20 times the community wise vacancies of posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT cum choice of posts. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific category(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts.
However qualifying stage 2 examination will not ensure employment to candidates. Stage 2 qualified candidates to be further called for Typing Skill Test/ Computer based Aptitude Test, Document Verification, Medical Examination as applicable & fixed by the RRBs. NTPC Stage 3 (Computer Based Aptitude Test)- Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master.
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)- Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies of Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) for each of the communities i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM) shall be short listed for CBAT based on their performance in 2nd Stage CBT from among the candidates who have opted for the post of SM/ TA.
RRB NTPC 1/2019 Selection Process:
The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/ Medical Examination. Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of recruitment stages. Candidates
