National Recruitment Agency: Cabinet approves setting of NRA, to conduct CET for multiple government jobs

Union Cabinet approves setting up of National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for conducting Common Eligibility test (CET) for Multiple Government Jobs.  Forming NRA and conducting CET exam twice a year will reduce pain of students who fill hundreds of Forms every year, Cabinet Minister says. Govt Job seekers appear for multiple examinations, pay repetitive fees, NRA will remove these pain points with a Common Eligibility test for Multiple Government jobs, he said. Here are the key highlights of NRA CET examination prescribed by the Union Cabinet on August 19, 2020.

National Recruitment Agency (NRA):

National Recruitment Agency, NRA will be an autonomous society under Societies Act. It will have representatives from SSC, RRB, IBPS. NRA will conduct Tier-1 examination-Common Eligibility Test, said Union Minister Prakash Javdekar. NRA CET will be online examination in Computer Based Mode for the multiple government jobs, says Cabinet Minister on Wednesday.  

National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct CET Eligibility Test each year twice. Agency will carry recruitment posts of SSC, RRB, IBPS & other departments. Each district will have at-least one exam centre for NRA CET.

NRA CET Exam Structure:

NRA will conduct Tier-1 examination-Common Eligibility Test, CET. CET will be online examination and every district will have at least one exam centre for the convenience of candidates participating in the Exam.

  • NRA will conduct Common Eligibility Test (CET) twice a year. 
  • CET will be conducted at 1,000 exam centres across the country. 
  • Each district will have one exam centre. 
  • Exam will be in 12 languages.

National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will conduct CET exam in 12 Multiple Indian languages. NRA CET score will be valid for 3 years and Common Eligibility Test will be conducted twice in a year, Cabinet decided.
