Maharashtra Board 12th Exams by May-End, Announces Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad

Due to COVID-19, the Maharashtra state board has postponed the exams for classes 10th and 12th. Now, the exams will be held in May-end says State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Monday.

Maharashtra State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Monday said that the exams for Class 12th or Senior Secondary will be held by end of May 2021. While the exams for Class 10th or Secondary will be held in June 2021, she further added in her statement.  

"Given the current #COVID19 situation in Maharashtra, we’ve postponed state board exams for class 10th & 12th. Class 12th exams will be held by end of May, while 10th standard exams will be in June. Fresh dates will be announced accordingly", said Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.

"We'll also be writing to the CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge boards, requesting them to reconsider their exam dates" she added.

Maharashtra is currently the most affected state of the COVID-19 virus across India. Under the second wave of Coronavirus state is recording over 50,000 new cases daily. In view of the surge in the number of cases of Coronavirus, the state authorities have announced Lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays in different parts of the state.

State Education Board, MSBSHSE had decided to postpone the board exams for Classes 10th and 12th to May 2021. The exams were to start in April 2021.
