IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam on 4 October, Admit Card to release at ignouexams.nta.nic.in

IGNOU NTA PhD 2020: National Testing Agency has released new schedule for IGNOU Ph.D Entrance Examination 2020. IGNOU NTA Ph.D entrance exam 2020 will be conducted on 4 October 2020 (Sunday), new entrance exam notice reads. Candidates who have applied for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for Ph.D admission, are hereby notified that Ph.D entrance examination is now re-scheduled on October 4, 2020. 

Releasing the new entrance examination schedule on August 20, National Testing Agency has prescribed the revised examination dates for various entrance examinations including IGNOU Ph.D entrance test 2020, IGNOU OPENMAT (MBA Admission), UGC NET June 2020, DUET 2020 & other exams. 

  • IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam Date- 4 October 2020

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has re-scheuduled the entrance exam date for Ph.D to 04/10/2020 (Sunday). Earlier the NTA IGNOU PhD entrance 2020 was postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic and nationwide Lockdowns. Online portal for Ph.D admission 2020 applications was open from 28 February 2020 for the July 2020 academic session. 

As per revised schedule National Testing Agency is set to conduct IGNOU Ph.D entrance exam on 4th of October 2020. Admit card for NTA IGNOU PhD entrance exam is expected to release on 19 September 2020. 

Candidates who have applied for the NTA IGNOU Ph.d admissions July 2020 session using their Registration ID, password will be eligible to download the entrance exam 2020 admit card from ignouexams.nta.nic.in

Admission to the Ph.D Degree Programme into IGNOU, is strictly on merit, based on the performance in the Entrance Test and Interview. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall be as per the ‘University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of MPhil / PhD Degrees) Regulations, 2016 consisting of 50% of Research methodology and 50% subject specific.  

The IGNOU Ph.D Entrance test question paper shall have total 100 questions consisting of 50% on research methodology and 50% on specific subject. All the questions shall be Multiple Choice questions (MCQ) with 4 options and only one correct answer. There shall be no negative marking. The Entrance Test shall have a 70% weightage and 30% weightage shall be given to the interview/ viva, information brochure adds.
