Delhi govt cancels University final year exams: Manish Sisodia

Delhi govt has decided to cancel all Delhi state university exams including final exams in view of #COVID19. The degree will be awarded based on evaluation parameters decided by the universities, says Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. As News Agency PTI reported "Delhi govt has decided to cancel all upcoming semester, final exams of universities under it due to COVID-19". In his address to media, Sisodia says that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to PM Modi requesting him to take a similar decision for the universities and colleges falling under the Centre.

On Saturday Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia interacting with the media, made the announcement to scrap all state Universities exams. He also said that Delhi Govt has decided to cancel the final year / semester examinations. The decision came just a day after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi asked UGC to cancel the University examinations.

CM Kejriwal writes to PM Modi to cancel Exams:

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal writes to PM Modi urging UGC to cancel the final year exams. In his letter CM Kejriwal says "For the sake of our youth, I urge Prime Minister to personally intervene and cancel final year exams of Delhi University and other central govt universities and save the future", says Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Earlier University Grant Commission clarified its stance on holding final year / semester examinations across all state & central universities. Releasing its revised guidelines UGC asked Universities/ Institutions to hold final term exams by September end. The decision was taken amid students & several state governments decided to scrap university exams due to un-conducive situation for holding exams.
