Board Exams 2021 Postponed or Cancelled due to COVID-19, Check State-Wise List

Several state boards have cancelled or postponed the board exams 2021 for class 10th and 12th, officially. From CBSE to Haryana Board, Maharashtra to Odisha & other boards have differed their exams or scrapped, in view of the safety from COVID-19.

Amid the surge in the cases of Covid-19 under the second wave in India, several states and even the central board (CBSE) have either postponed or cancelled the Class 10th and 12th board exams. CBSE on April 14, Thursday decided to cancel the class 10 exams and postponed the exams for class 12. The decision was taken after a high-level meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Following the footsteps of CBSE, several state governments also took the decision of postponing the exams for Class 10th and 12th. Several state education boards have scrapped the exams for Class 10th/ Matriculation or Secondary level keeping an eye on the current situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maharashtra being the most affected state across the country, initially decided to cancel the Maharashtra Board exams for class 10 and 12 which were scheduled to begin from 27th April. Maharashtra Govt. had written to CBSE to postpone or cancel the exams that were lined up in May 2021.

Amid rising demands of students, parents and teachers CBSE board, Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was called in a meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi. After deliberating on the issue CBSE board exams for class 10th were cancelled and 12th exams were postponed till the next notice.

Following the decision, Punjab, Odisha, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Telangana officials have decided to postpone or cancel the exams for class 10th and 12th students. Bihar State is the only had conducted the exams in February 2021. The state board has already declared the results of Class 10th and 12th.
