With more tests conducted in Delhi, the positivity rate (the proportion of samples tested that return positive) increased by 1.39 percentage points to 23.86 percent. Officials said on Wednesday that, in response to the Centre's directive to states and union territories to increase Covid testing, all districts in Delhi have been given targets based on the number of active cases to increase the number of tests.
Satyendar Jain, the Delhi Health Minister, stated that it was not the time to relax restrictions. "The numbers have decreased from 30% to 22-24%; they have decreased, but not to the point where we can open up everything." Hopefully, the numbers will fall as quickly as they rose. However, we must wait and see."
