Shamshera began its journey on Day 1 with an opening of ₹10.25 crore. The opening is significantly lower than what the industry anticipated. Although it was anticipated that the movie would do well over the weekend, it appears that, despite positive reviews, the collection stayed modest. A meager ₹31.25 crores have been made by Ranbir's movie in 3 days.

Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor's characters are pitted against one another in the Shamshera narrative. The latter assumes the role of Shuddh Singh, an evil, callous, and heartless guy. A warrior tribe is imprisoned, sold into slavery, and subjected to torture in the fictional city of Kaza in the year 1800 by the brutal authoritarian general Shuddh Singh.
The main character of the tale is a slave who rises to leadership positions before becoming legendary within his community. He never stops fighting for the independence and honor of his tribe. Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla, and Ashutosh Rana all play significant parts in Shamshera.
