Sardar Udham is an upcoming Amazon Original Hindi movie, directed by Shoojit Sircar & produced by Rising Sun Films. It stars Vicky Kaushal, Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, Amol Parashar & others.
Sardar Udham is based on the life of Udham Singh, who was an Indian revolutionary belonging to the Ghadar Party, best known for his assassination in London of Michael O'Dwyer. Michael O'Dwyer was responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Udham Singh was caught after the successful assassination of Dwyer & he was subsequently tried and convicted of murder and hanged in July 1940. While in custody, he used the name Ram Mohammad Singh Azad, which represents the three major religions of Punjab and his anti-colonial sentiment.
