Phone Bhoot's first-weekend box office haul of 13 crores* was below average. Of sure, it should have performed better, but 90% of this year's releases have fallen short of their potential or qualities when they were released.
This parody horror comedy would have made at least Rs 40–50 crores during its lifetime before the pandemic, but now it will be at most in the 22–23 crore range. As such, Phone Bhoot experienced little growth during the weekend or on midweek partial holidays, and the remaining days were lower. This pattern continued throughout the first week. Phone Bhoot box office collection day 2 numbers are given here.

In the second week, Phone Bhoot may have had a chance to earn some money, but a half-dozen new Hollywood and Bollywood releases will further diminish its chances. Phone Bhoot will undoubtedly gain popularity following its OTT release and become known for being underrated. However, given the comedy subgenre, it is undoubtedly best appreciated by the masses, which regrettably wasn't the case here.
