Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most versatile and talented actors of Bollywood. Starting his journey with the film Saawariya, RK has given many superhits in his career such as Rockstar, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Aye Dil Hai Mushkil, etc. And as Ranbir Kapoor turned 38 today, let's look at some of the lesser-known facts about him:
Ranbir Kapoor's real name is Ranbir Raj Kapoor. His middle name is kept on his grandfather Raj Kapoor. Apparently, the actor was very close to him and this is why he decided to add his name.
Ranbir Kapoor had a huge crush on Avantika Malik, who married Imran Khan (Aamir's nephew). However, later on, the couple split due to some issues in their marriage.
Ranbir Kapoor had left his father Rishi Kapoor due to his anger issues and after he got aggressive with Neetu Kapoor. For a few years, the actor lived separately due to this and got a little detached to his father, but later on, they managed to sort things out.
When Ranbir Kapoor was too young, he was slapped by Salman Khan in a restaurant where the latter was having dinner. Apparently, Salman did not know who he was and when scolded by Rishi Kapoor, he later apologised to Ranbir and him.
Ranbir is an introvert. He told a magazine that, "I’ve always been an introvert. My mother used to wonder how I’d grow up to become an actor. I never spoke, I guess I had a confidence issue. When I act though, I can channel another self through a character. It gives me the licence to be shy in my personal life.”
Ranbir's nickname is Baba as he is fondly called by his parents. So just like his sisters Kareena (Bebo) and Karisma (Lolo), Ranbir is also called Baba.
Ranbir would have chosen football as his career if not driven towards acting. He is very fond of playing football and often takes time out playing the game with Abhishek Bachchan and Aditya Roy Kapur.
