Early projections indicate that the movie grossed ₹3 crores on its opening Monday. This is a significant decrease from the ₹9 crores on Sunday. The movie is enjoying a steady run at the box office, however, considering the budget of the film, which is almost ₹100 crores, the earnings may not be enough.
The movie has received negative reviews from critics, as well as the public. This means that the murder mystery film is unlikely to get a huge boost on its 2nd weekend. John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, & Tara Sutaria starrer will most likely finish around ₹50 crores at the box office. Ek Villain Returns day 5 box office collection report is given here.

It appears that centers in tier 2-3 cities are driving the movie's business. Given the film's premise of betrayed love and retaliation, the young people have seen it. Ek Villain had a ₹16.72 crores opening in 2014. By its first Sunday, the movie had earned Rs 50 crores. Ek Villain Returns, in contrast, failed to earn more than ₹30 crores.
