Top Bollywood film producers and four leading industries have registered a case at Delhi High Court against Arnab Goswami, Republic TV and Times now, Pradeep Bhandari, Rahul Shivshankar, and Navika Kumar. The case is filed in the rise of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The case has been filed against Arnab Goswami, Republic TV and Times now, Pradeep Bhandari, Rahul Shivshankar, and Navika Kumar for stating "drug mafia" in Bollywood. 

According to ANI, "Plea before Delhi HC by four Bollywood associations & 34 producers to refrain Republic TV, Arnab Goswami, Pradeep Bhandari, Times Now, Rahul Shivshankar, Navika Kumar & others from making/publishing irresponsible, derogatory & defamatory remarks against Bollywood, its members."

The statement came to rise after dogged coverage of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case where these channels claimed Bollywood as his murderer. The news channels also read the alleged WhatsApp messages of celebrities and claimed them to be involved in drugs. According to the source Bark & Bench, The case also restraint the use of words like scum, druggies, and filth which is used by these news channels against Bollywood Celebrities. 

Earlier in Parliament, MP and actor Jaya Bachchan made a statement on criticizing Bollywood. "Entertainment industry in our country which provides direct employment every day to 5 lakh people and indirect employment to 5 million people. At a time when the financial situation is in a depressing state, and employment is at the worst level, in order to divert the attention of the people, we are being used to be flogged by the social media and the government’s nonsupport," Bachchan had said.
