Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education (TNDTE) shall host Online Counseling for admission into the 1st Year of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Engg) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) for the Academic Session 2020 - 21 in keeping with the Counseling Schedule commencing the 17th of September up to the 6th Date of October 2020. Online Counseling commencing on 17.09.2020 slated to conclude on the 6th Date of October will span 04 to 05 rounds. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2020 will span Four to Five rounds of Online Counseling.
The Applicants for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) - 2020 - 21, shall be grouped on the basis of their respective Ranks and each Group of Applicants would be allowed to appear in the Online Counselling according to their turn for admission into the First Year of B.Engg / B.Tech. offered under the Government and Government-Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and for the Seats surrendered by Self–Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) Online Counseling scheduled to be held
commencing the 17th Date of September up to the 6th of October 2020 for admission into the 1st Year of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) for the Academic Session 2020 - 21 entails the candidates to meet with the prescribed Eligibility Criteria for admission into B.Engg. / B.Tech. Course for the Academic Year 2020.
The candidates selected for admission into the 1st Year of B.Engg. / B.Tech, as notified by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education shall be as per Allocation of the Seats in the Colleges as follows:

A) Category I:
I) The Seats in B.Engg. & B.Tech. Degree Courses in Government, Government-Aided and the Seats Surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges affiliated to Anna University.
i) Seats in Government Engineering Colleges;
ii) Seats in Aided courses in Government-Aided Engineering Colleges;
iii) Seats in Central Electro-Chemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi
The Seats in Bachelor of Engineering & Bachelor of Technology Degree Courses in the University Departments and the Constituent Colleges of Anna University.
III) The Seats in B.Engg. Degree Courses in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering (Tamil Medium) in the University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University.
IV) The Seats in B.Engg. Degree Courses in Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram.
b) Category II (i) The Seats in Self-Supporting courses in Government Aided Engineering Colleges (ii) Seats surrendered by Self Financing Engineering Colleges (iii) Seats in Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET)
Modality of Selection For admission under General Category prescribed for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission into B.E. / B.Tech Courses is re-explained in the subsequent lines.
Selection for Admission into B.Engg. / B.Tech. shall be strictly based on the Marks obtained by the candidates in the prescribed Academic Subjects reduced to Maximum 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics + Chemistry: 100) Marks in the Qualifying Examination AND
ii) Normalization of the Marks and Internecine-se-Merit / Inter-se Merit.
The candidates eligible to participate in TNEA Online Counseling, will be provisionally allotted the Colleges and the Branches through Online Counselling only, as per their respective Choices, based on their Overall Rank and Community Rank.
The candidates appearing in the Online Counselling and joined in the Professional Courses in Government / Government-Aided and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges declared eligible for admission will also be Eligible as per the TNEA Guidelines.
