KVS Admissions 2020-21: Registration for Class 1 begins, know schedule & merit list guidelines

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has started admissions 2020-21 online registration process. KVS Sangathan on Monday issued detailed guidelines for admission to Class 1 for session 2020-21. Parents seeking admissions to Kendriya Vidyalayas for their kids can go through the admission guidelines elaborated at kvsangathan.nic.in. As per the KVS Admission schedule released, registration for Class 1 has started and to last on August 7, 2020. Whereas for Class 2nd the last date is set as July 25 (Offline mode). The first provisionally selected list for class 1 students to be published on 11th August, the second list on April 9 and the third list is set to release on April 23 (on the availability of vacant seats).

KVS Admissions 2020-21: Admission advertisement for online registration to Class 1 has been issued by the Regional Office in the local newspapers for session 2020-21. The advt gives the admission schedule 2020-21 and detailed Class 1 admission guidelines is also available at kvsangathan.nic.in

KVS invites Parents to register their wards for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Admission advt indicates that admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas are not restricted to Central Govt. employees and are open to all, only certain priorities have been laid down for different categories to regulate the admissions. The reservations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and Differently Able under RTE Act 2009 are also inherited.

Online Registration for Admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the Academic Year 2020-2021 will commence at 10:00 am on 20.07.2020 and will close at 7:00 pm on 07.08.2020. The Admission details can be obtained through website kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in and also through Android Mobile App. Parents are requested to go through the instructions for using the portal and mobile app carefully before using them.

Eligible Age for Admission:

A Child must be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in case of Differently abled children by the Principal. Whereas, there is no age restriction for admission to Class XI provided.

KVS Admission Reservations: 

Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes Category- 15% seats for Scheduled Caste, 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes and 27% seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) shall be reserved in all fresh admissions in all Kendriya Vidyalayas. For Differently Abled Category- 3% seats of total available seats for fresh admission

Registration Last Date: According to the official schedule, last date of Online Registration for Class- 1 is 07 August 2020, whereas the last date of admission for classes including class 10th is September 15.

Documents Required:

Certificate of proof of age in the form of a birth certificate issued by the Authority Competent to register births. This will include certificates from Notified Area Council / Municipality / Municipal Corporation / extract about the date of birth from records of Village Panchayat, Military Hospital and service records of Defence personnel. A scan picture of the certificate must be uploaded on the online admission portal. The original certificate of date of birth should be produced before the KV at the time of admission.

Note- The studies of Class I will commence from 15th Sept, 2020 either online or regular in Vidyalaya depending upon improvement in situation due to COVID-19. Students can read- Detailed Class 1-11 admission 2020-21 guidelines

  • Online Registration for Class 1st- 20/07/2020
  • Last date of Online Registration for Class 1- 07/08/2020
  • Declaration of provisional select and waitlist of registered candidates- 1st list on 11/08/2020

Admission of eligible candidates of selected list in following order: (i) RTE (ii) From Service Priority Category (I and II) only (iii) Shortfall of Reservation Quota after admission in (i) and (ii) above: 2nd list on 24/08/2020 (Monday) (if seats remain vacant), 3rd list on 26/08/2020 (Wednesday) (if seats remain vacant).

Declaration of provisional select merit list- 27/08/2020 to 29/08/2020

Extended date for Second Notification for offline registrations for admissions to be made under RTE Provisions, SC/ST and OBC (NCL)- Registration from 31/08/2020 (Monday) to 05/09/2020 (Saturday) and display of merit list and admissions 07/09/2020 (Monday) to 11/09/2020 (Friday).
