In Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12th results 2020, a farmer's son in remote village in Uttar Pradesh scored 98.2 percent marks. Not only he scored 98.2% marks in 10th Class, he has paved the way for his admission to a prestigious Cornell University one of the Ivy League university in United States of America (USA). According to a report published by PTI the farmer's son who is living in a far remote village Sarasan in Uttar Pradesh has received full scholarship from a pretigeous University in America.
Anurag Tiwari who belongs to Sarasan Village in Lakhimpur District in Uttar Pradesh has grabbed full Scholarship from Cornell University in USA. According to a report published in ToI it is stated that Anurag Tiwari who scored 98.2 % marks in Monday declared Class 12th results, is waiting for his online classes at Cornell University which are scheduled to start from September 1. He will be studying economics and mathematics at Cornell University, source told.
During an interaction with ToI Anurag said “My decision to study humanities was questioned by many who felt it was not suitable for boys”.
In recently announced CBSE Class 10 results 2020 Anurag scored a perfect 100 in economics and history, 99 in political science and 97 in English. He scored lowest in mathematics (95). It is also reported that Anurag's village Sarasan has just got electricity four years' ago. Four years back, Anurag’s village didn’t even have electricity, report says.
“Eventually my teachers and counsellors in Delhi advised I could try for Ivy League colleges if I wished to pursue Liberal Arts. There are various good colleges in our country but even those abroad can be good based on my preference for studies. Thus, I applied to Cornell University and took the SAT,” he said.

The boy said he would have gone to Cornell University in August but due to certain travel and visa restrictions that is unlikely now and expects to land there only by February 2021. Most of the universities in United States are currently holding virtual classes due to the health emergency caused in the country by the Covid-19 pandemic.
