DU Admissions 2020- The University of Delhi has released admission schedule and detailed notice for admission under Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA). DU starts admission registration for ECA from 1st to 31st August 2020. Candidates desirous for Delhi University ECA admission 2020-21 going through admission criteria & new ECA guidelines can register at admission portal before last date. It is mentioned in guidelines that students would be required to upload a maximum of Best Five certificates of preceding three years (1st May 2017 – 30th April 2020). The registration for admission through merit shall inclusive of ECA, to remain open till 31st August 2020.
The Delhi University (DU) has decided to include all the fourteen categories of last year of Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) under the admission through ECA category in the UG Courses. Applicants desirous of registering under ECA can do so from 1st August to 31st August 2020. Delhi University admission prospectus 2020-21 now consists of admissions under ECA also. Earlier it was reported that University of Delhi might not facilitate ECA admissions for session 2020-21. It is brought into highlights that the registration for admission to all courses (UG, PG, M.Phil./ Ph.D) through entrance shall close on 31st July 2020.
DU ECA 2020 Registration Dates:
Application window for Admission under ECA to start from 1st August and to remain open till 31st August 2020. Applicants who have already registered and now wish to apply under ECA category can also do so from 1st August 2020 to 31st August 2020 after paying the requisite additional fee of Rs 100/-.
Note- Applicants may register for a maximum of three ECA category. Categories listed for Delhi University ECA Admissions 2020-21 are Creative Writing, Dance, Debate, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental Indian), Music (Inst. Western), Theatre, Quiz, NCC, Divinity, NSS and Yoga.
Application Form Editing:
In order to make the process more student-friendly, the registered applicants will be allowed to edit / correct their forms and upload their certificates. The facility for editing, will be allowed only to the applicants who would have registered on the admission portal till the last date as announced by the University of Delhi.
The window for editing is likely to be announced in between the third week of August to the second week of September 2020. Applicants are advised to regularly check the website of University of Delhi for schedule.
ECA Admissions Process:
Admission under ECA will be done based on the Merit/ Participation certificates of the Applicants. Applicants would be required to upload a maximum of Best Five certificates of preceding three years (1st May 2017 – 30th April 2020). Undated certificates will not be considered for marking. Certificates uploaded by the applicant shall be scrutinized and evaluated out of a maximum of 100 marks. Applicants scoring 20 marks and above in uploaded certificates shall be eligible for final merit list of admission on the basis of ECA. The marks under ECA category will be awarded based on sum of the total marks awarded in the three best certificates uploaded by the candidate.
Not more than 15% concession in academic merit vis-à-vis, Unreserved Category applicants from the last relevant cut-off will be given for admission to a specific course.
The criteria for marking of Merit / Participation ECA certificate from total 100 marks are as follows-
Participation/Prizes in Competition- 44 marks
Training/ Examinations- 28 marks
Workshops- 16 marks
Performance / Published work / Exhibition (Public)- 12 marks
DU ECA Admission 2020 Schedule:
Starting date for admission through ECA is 1st August 2020 and the last date for registration for admission through merit (including ECA) is defined as 31 August 2020. Whereas, the last date for registration for admission to all courses (UG, PG, M.Phil./ Ph.D) through entrance is still 31st July 2020. The schedule of release of Merit List under ECA, is yet to be finalized. Applicants are advised to keep updating from DU Admission portal 2020.
