CM Kejriwal launches Delhi Corona App, to detail beds and ventilators in Delhi Hospitals

Delhi government on Tuesday launched a dedicated mobile app to help people find the status of availability status of beds in Delhi Hospitals. Through the Delhi Corona app users can view the total hospital beds and ventilators in Delhi. Naming the app- Delhi Corona, the Delhi Government's app is initially available for download on Android mobile phone users. It is designed to make it easy to find healthcare facilities for COVID-19 treatment. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the launch of the Delhi Corona app through a livestream. CM highlighted that the app can be used to find healthcare facilities offered by both government and private hospitals in the capital city.

Newly launched Delhi Corona app will answer the users how many hospital beds are vacant in Delhi Hospitals and how many beds are occupied at this moment. Launched on 2nd June, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in his virtual press briefing announced on Monday that Delhi Government is bringing a dedicated app for providing the information on availability of beds in Hospital.

CM Kejriwal Launches Delhi Corona App

Delhi Chief Minister on Tuesday launched the app while addressing the media through the livestream. The Delhi Corona app lists all the government and private hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients. It details the total as well as the number of occupied and vacant hospital beds and ventilators to help people in case of an emergency. The androind version launched Delhi Corona app supports Hindi and English languages.

Arvind Kejriwal said that the app would fill the information about the availability of facilities available for novel coronovirus patients. 'There are many places where coronoviruses have spread extensively. 'There was a shortage of beds, ventilators and ICUs, which led to a large number of deaths,' The Chief Minister said, 'Corona cases are increasing in Delhi, but we have made adequate arrangements.' According to Kejriwal, 6,731 beds are available in private and government hospitals, of which 4,100 are vacant. 'People are not aware of it,' he said. 'We are launching an app today and it has details of all the beds available in private and government hospitals.'

I said, it will be updated twice a day at 10 am and 6 pm. Kejriwal said that if the app shows that a bed was available in a hospital, but the facility refused admission, the patient can call the government helpline number 1031 and file a complaint.

Kejriwal said that the special secretary of the health department will ensure that a person gets a bed. 'Of the more than 20,000 patients, only 2,600 need to be hospitalized,' he said. 'If the hospital tells you that it can be treated at home, please listen to them.' The government has deployed a team that will be in contact with patients during house separation and if they become serious, it will ensure that they get a bed.

About the Delhi Corona App

The Delhi Corona app lists all government and private hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients in National Capital. The app details the total as well as the number of hospital beds and ventilators in the hospital to help people in emergencies. The app also supports both Hindi and English languages.

In Delhi more than 20,000 Coronavirus cases reported by Tuesday. Out of the total 8,746 people have been discharged and cured while 523 people have lost their lives. Currently 11,565 cases are active in Delhi as per MoHFW data
