Zomato reply 'Food has no Religion' win hearts on Internet after customer cancels order over 'non-Hindu' delivery boy

Zomato reply on non-Hindu delievery - Restaurant assembling and food delivery company Zomato is winning the internet after it on Wednesday refused to resolve a customer's complaint about being assigned a Muslim delivery executive for his food order."Food doesn't have a religion. It is a religion," the company tweeted in response to the customer's request for change of the rider. On Tuesday night, a man tweeted about cancelling his order placed on Zomato as the designated rider was a "non-Hindu...

Amit Shukla, a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, cancelled his order on app-based food delivery service Zomato because the delivery person was from a different religion. But Zomato responded by taking a stand and is getting a lot of praise for it on social media. He also shared screenshots of his conversation with Zomato's customer care, saying he would take up the issue with his lawyers. "Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN ," Amit Shukla tweeted. He complained to Zomato about how the service had allocated a non-Hindu rider to deliver an order. He added that the company said "they can't change rider and can't refund on cancellation. @ZomatoIN is forcing us to take deliveries from people we don't want else they won't refund and won't cooperate".

Then the company's CEO Deepinder Goyal also weighed in with a tweet in which he stood by the company's decision, with a firm message. "We are proud of the idea of India - and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren't sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values," Mr Goyal tweeted.

However, this isn't the first time a service provider has been targeted over their religion. In 2018, a VHP activist tweeted that bragging about cancelling a cab booking because the driver was Muslim provoked outrage and condemnation. So, we can say that Zomato's response will teach the user a lesson or two.

Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN they allocated a non hindu rider for my food they said they can't change rider and can't refund on cancellation I said you can't force me to take a delivery I don't want don't refund just cancel
