'Mitron' App reaches five million downloads, a perfect TikTok rival becomes popular within a month

Mitron app has received more than 50 lakh downloads in a month of launching so far. The Mitron app has become the second most downloaded app on the Google Play Store in a month of app release. The demand for the Mitron app has registered a significant increase in the Covid-19 epidemic. Actually the internet war between Youtube and TikTok has been going on for some time now. Meanwhile, Mitron App has registered fast growth.

Mitron App takes on TikTok over Google Play Store: Tiktok app is often in the headlines in India. This short video sharing app is operated by a Chinese company. These days, the bad days of ticketing are going on in India. Recently, there was a demand to ban this app once again for the content related to acid attack.

Meanwhile, an Indian app Friends (Mitron) is rapidly making a place in smartphones of people across the country. The Mitron App, which looks like Tiktok to a large extent in terms of viewing and use, is slowly emerging as a rival to TikTok in India.

Deepak Abbott of Growth Bug, a mobile marketing and data analytics company, said that the Indian video-sharing app has usually received 5 lakh downloads daily. Short videos are posted on this app. The term Friends is used in Ambol among friends in India. Also, on behalf of PM Modi, while addressing Indians, he has used the word Mitron in many of his speeches.

Mirton App a Perfect TikTok rival

Mitron App has, so far, been downloaded over 5 million from the Google Play Store. The Indian video-sharing app has been getting over 5 lakh downloads per day on an average, according to Deepak Abbot from mobile marketing and data analytics company Growth Bug. The app’s naming, coupled with its short video format, is said to be the prime reason for the quick growth. ‘Mitron’, which translates to friends in Hindi, is a common term used by PM Modi in several of his speeches and addresses to Indians across the world.

A student of IIT Roorkee has developed the Mirton app. It is exactly like the Chinese app TikTok. It provides easy interface to users, where users can edit, share and create videos. Also, users can easily view the short videos on the platform by swiping up and down. Users have to sign up to post their videos on the Mitron app. Users have been given the option to follow to watch their favorite videos.

The strong entry of the Mitron app will give a tough competition to the Chinese app Tiktok. The TikTok app is quite popular among Indians. But it has received criticism due to its many contentious contents. Indians spend 5.5 billion hours daily on short video apps, which is 900 hours more than last year 2018. India is a big market for TikTok outside China, with 30 percent or 611 app downloads.
