Matilda the Musical Makers & Star Cast 

The movie is based on the 1988 novel Matilda by Roald Dahl and the complete name of the movie is Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. It's a remake of the American film 'Matilda 1996, in which Matilda played a small girl having superpowers. The movie is directed by Matthew Warchus and the screenplay is done by Dennis Kelly. 

The star cast of the movie features Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull, lead actress Alisha Weir as Matilda, and Lashana Lynch playing Miss Honey. Whereas Stephen Graham is playing Mr. Wormwood and Andrea Riseborough as Mrs. Wormwood, Sindhu Vee as Mrs. Phelps.

Matilda the Musical Trailer & Storyline 

The story 'Matilda the Musical' revolves around Matilda Wormwood a teenage prodigy who is fascinated with reading books. She has the worst parents ever Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, who never cares for her, and they force her to focus on trashy TV and dubious money-making ventures.

Matilda, on the other hand, finds her extraordinary talents thanks to her compassionate teacher Miss Honey (Lashana Lynch). Finally unstoppable, she vows to fight for justice and teach Miss Trunchbull (Emma Thompson) a lesson she will never forget. 

The trailer of the movie launched on 15th June 2022 where it gives a sneak peek at the reimagined world of Matilda and announced its theatre release date. The second trailer of the movie was released on 13th October and announced its release date on the OTT platform.

Matilda the Musical OTT Platform & Release Date 

Matilda the Musical is a fantasy musical comedy film, where the classic story of Matilda 1996 is being made into a streamable musical fantasy film. 

A new trailer of the movie has been released that presented more live on the big screen and if you can able to see it in your country, you can watch it on the biggest digital streaming platform Netflix.

The movie has already premiered at the BFI Film Festival in London on October 5, 2022. It was released in UK cinemas on November 25, 2022. Whereas it will be released in the US on December 9, 2022.  

Following its limited theatrical release, the film will be available on Netflix the on December 25 the day of Christmas.
