Cobra: Cast, Story, Release Date, Budget, Director, Trailer & Latest Updates About Tamil Movie

Cobra, an upcoming Tamil action thriller film, marks the debut of Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, as well as Shetty, Khalid, and Mathew's Tamil cinema debuts. The film's principal photography began on October 4, 2019, in Chennai. While Irfan Pathan arrived on the set on October 15, Srinidhi Shetty arrived at the end of the month.

Cobra Story

The plot revolves around Mathi, a brilliant mathematician who goes by the alias Cobra and performs intelligent crimes using math. Vikram is introduced in the teaser as a mathematical whiz who teaches math to poor children. However, there is more to him than meets the eye. He is also a wanted international fugitive who commits crimes with the use of mathematical calculations.

It is unclear what crime his character is wanted for, but based on the history of anti-heroes in Tamil cinema, his character is likely to lie between Robin Hood and Batman. Vikram's persona appears to have a lot of money and passports that allow him to go from one country to another. Not to mention his ability to easily assume a disguise. The teaser shows Vikram in several outfits. According to industry reports, Vikram would appear in more than 20 different roles in Cobra. 

Cobra Director

The movie is directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu, who previously directed Imaikkaa Nodigal, which received mixed reviews from critics & general public. 

Cobra Budget

According to sources, Chiyaan Vikram's remuneration for Cobra is ₹25 crores. The film is supposed to have a budget of ₹90 crores, which, when compared to his fees, amounts to 22.5 percent of the overall budget. That's tremendous, but we're not shocked because the actor puts his heart and soul into every part. So, in this case, the creators would have joyfully agreed on a figure!

Cobra Release Date

Cobra, starring Chiyaan Vikram, was supposed to hit theatres on August 11, but we now know that the film has been delayed. While no formal announcement has been made, it is expected that the film will be released on August 31, 2022.
