NEET MDS Counselling 2021 Dates Out; Process To Commence On 20 August

NEET MDS Counselling on Tuesday, August 10 finally got a date. The candidates who have qualified in NEET MDS 2020 entrance test will be eligible for counseling starting on August 20, 2021.

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, around 30,000 Dental graduates who appeared for the NEET-MDS 2020 conducted for admission to over 6,500 seats in the country got a big relief. According to the media sources, NEET MDS Counselling 2021 will now be held from August 20, 2021, onwards.

The BDS students who had appeared for the NEET MDS 2020 exam last year we're facing a huge challenge as their one year was about to fade. These qualified BDS students were waiting for the counselling dates since last year. Amid this, on Tuesday NEET MDS 2021 counselling finally got a date.

Informing about the announcement, Advocate Tanvi Dubey who filed the petition in the Supreme Court of India, tweeted. In her tweet, she writes, "Great news for #NEETMDS2021 Counselling to commence from 20.08.2021".

A plea was filed through lawyer Tanvi Dubey, stating that BDS graduates, doctors are challenging the “unjust and infinite delay" caused by the MCC in announcing the counselling schedule for NEET-MDS, 2021. 

On Monday, a bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and M R Shah directed MCC and the central government to present the counselling schedule and indicate the exact date by Wednesday.

On July 29, the Centre has approved announced a 27% quota for OBCs and 10% reservation for the EWS category in the AIQ scheme for undergraduates and postgraduate medical and dental courses from the current academic year, 2021-22.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) MDS 2020 was conducted on December 16, 2020, by the National Board of Examination (NBE) for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery (MDS) course. The doctors, having BDS degrees, had appeared in the examination. The results for admissions in PG courses for BDS candidates were also declared on December 31, 2020. Since then, there was no official update on Counselling and seat allotment.
