Indo-China Border Row: Indian Army issues official statement on recent clash with PLA

After a physical clash between PLA and the Indian Army took place at Naku La, Sikkim border, the Indian Army has issued a statement claiming that the clash was minor and the situation has been resolved by local commanders.

It was recently reported that a Clash between the Indian Army and PLA soldiers took place at Naku La, near the Sikkim border three days ago. As per defense sources, it has been reported that PLA tried to intrude across the Indian side, however, the attempt was thwarted by the Indian Army. Around 20 soldiers from the Chinese side have sustained injuries.

''We have received several queries regarding a face-off between the Indian Army and PLA troops in the Sikkim sector. It is clarified that there was a minor face-off at the Nakula area of North Sikkim on 20 January 2021 and the same was resolved by local commanders as per established protocols. The media is requested to refrain from overplaying or exaggerating reports which are factually incorrect.'' said Army sources.

The clashes have been reported just after the conclusion of the 9th round of corps commander level talks between PLA and the Indian army on Monday.
