India-China disengagement row: Indian Army & PLA tanks pull back from friction sites near LAC

As per recent reports, PLA and the Indian Army on Wednesday began disengaging from the forward areas of Pangong Tso in Ladakh near LAC. The disengagement procedure was agreed upon by both parties at the 11th round of corps commander level talks which were held last month.

On Thursday after DM Rajnath Singh's statement on the current Indo-China border situation, PLA Type-99 & Indian T-90 tanks were seen disengaging at Pangong Tso near LAC. The decision was taken jointly by local commanders to reduce tensions between both sides near Pangong Tso which were heightened after Galwan Incident. 

According to DM Rajnath Singh's statement, "The Chinese side will keep its troop presence in the North Bank area to the east of Finger 8. Reciprocally, the Indian troops will be based at their permanent base at Dhan Singh Thapa Post near Finger 3. Similar action would be taken in the South Bank area by both sides.".
