'Gumraah' has been helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. It is all set to release in cinemas on April 7, 2023. Gumraah is the remake of the Tamil film, Thadam.
The trailer of the film looked promising an unmissable drama with a plethora of twists that would unfold on 7th April 2023. However, the opening report depicts the opposite of it. Go through the Gumraah box office collection day 2.
Gumraah is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Vardhan Ketkar and produced by T-Series Films and Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur, in a dual role along with Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy. It is a remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam.
Its a movie about a gruesome murder, and the suspects are identical, Ronnie played by Aditya Roy Kapur shows up at the police station and the cops thought it's an open & shut case, the case includes Ronit Roy playing the SIP who has previous happenings with Arjun(double role of Aditya) and wants nothing more than to see him rot in prison.
However, Mrunal Thakur played by Shivani Mathur wants to do the right thing for Arjun. To complicate this narrative there multiple back stories, the stories are forcefully twisted, with a dull climax.
Gumraah faced competition with last week’s releases of Bholaa and Dasara which have been holding up well at the box office. Gumraah has counted be the third Hindi adaptation of a South Indian film this year. Each of these films has underperformed in theatres.
Like Kartik Aryan’s ‘Shehzada’ which is a Telugu remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Akshay Kumar’s 'Selfiee' which is a Malayalam remake of Driving License both films barely even earned Rs 20 crores during its run in the theatres.

1. The story and the plot of the movie is amazing.
2. Movie keeps you involve from start to end with amazing twists and turns.
3. The first half is slow and mostly character building. pic.twitter.com/fXlXBVLw6P
Gumraah is also a Tamil remake of Thadam, this rise question that why Hindi films are choosing to remake such recent regional films as the originals are easily available on the streaming platform.
On its opening, it earned Rs 1.50 crores and had an 11.25% of occupancy rate. It's estimated to earn Rs 2 crores on Day 2 as it's Saturday, and it might have a chance to rise by numbers.
