At the box office, Ranbir Kapoor's movie has failed miserably. The Bollywood movie is struggling to even make ₹50 crores in a week despite massive advertisements, multi-city releases, and star power. It's a major letdown for the producers and cast alike.
The Bollywood movie made close to ₹30 crores over the weekend, but subsequent weekdays saw a significant decline. On Wednesday as well, the decline persisted. On its 7th day, Ranbir Kapoor starrer crossed the ₹40 crore mark. Shamshera box office day 7 collection report is given here.

In addition to Ranbir, the movie by Karan Malhotra also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt but failed to draw audiences to the theatres. Malhotra sent a mournful letter on Twitter to acknowledge the disaster. He writes, "Shamshera, you are magnificent just the way you are. Since you experience all the love, hate, celebration, and humiliation here, it is crucial for me to express myself on this platform."
